Cheers to 2022 – Make $10,000 a Week From Your Couch!

Another new year is upon us.

There’s optimism in the air, but also a sense of pessimism.

I’m not sure if 2020 was worse than 2021, but both years have sucked.

But there’s an old saying, “The night is always darkest before the dawn.”

I’m not sure who said it first, but when Aaron Eckhart played Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight movie, he said it. And it stuck with me. Because Batman movies rule.

The quote helps.

Sometimes.

I don’t know if 2022 is going to be better or worse than the last two years.

There are so many things I can’t control.

We can’t control.

Our government, leaders, and Uncle Scrooge elitists have shown us that we’re walking piggy banks and voters to them. Nothing more. Our institutions are driven by greed, not health or safety. And while these discoveries absolutely suck, I think there’s beauty in uncovering truths. No matter how awful.

If we all do a little part, we can make a difference and stop allowing corporations, campaign donors, and lobbyists to run our lives. I think that little part starts with taking care of ourselves.

In 2022, I can only control what I can control.

Figured I’d start with employment.

A popular website that covers the news and Hollywood was looking for a writer. I figured I’d throw my hat in the ring. Money is money, even if it means covering elitist, out-of-touch clowns. (I’m sure this post is helping my job prospects with Hollywood, but lucky for me, no one reads this crap.)

Anyway, here’s my cover letter email:

I love TV and movies … like everyone else these days. That’s what American culture is.

“Did you see this?” or “Have you watched that?”

I tend to enjoy most screen watching story experiences but can be critical of movies/shows that betray audiences. (At least, betray in a bad way.)

For example, the no blood in the opening sequence of the new Bond film, No Time to Die? Stupid. But what was even worse, (SPOILERS AHEAD), was killing off James Bond. Ever since Logan, every movie franchise wants to kill off their main character. It’s not even done well (minus Logan and Iron Man – RIP). Replace Bond with a woman? Hell yeah! Replace Bond with a person of color? DO IT, ALREADY. But to kill him? Why? The point of James Bond is being the exception to the secret agent rule. He ALWAYS survives. That’s the point. Who wants to watch the greatest secret agent ever die? Especially after decades of surviving various actors and terrible movies?

The franchise is ruined.

Well, at least for five years, when it’s rebooted twenty-two times.

In closing, I won’t lie, sitting on my ass, in sweatpants, eating popcorn, watching tv, and then writing about it seems like the ideal position for me.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Have a happy new year!

Brian

Take your shot in 2022.

Be more of yourself.

Enjoy what you can.

Stay present.

And stop taking shit so seriously.

Things might get better.

They might get worse.

I believe things will get better, but only if we unite and work together.

And that starts with taking care of ourselves.

Cheers to 2022.
